Segment 3 - Lackawanna to Jefferson Township
(7.1 miles) -- From the Lackawanna Substation in Blakely, Lackawanna County, to a point where the line rejoins an existing 230-kilovolt line in Jefferson Township, Lackawanna County.

This is the only segment of the Susquehanna-Roseland power line in Pennsylvania that does not follow the path of an existing power line. In this area, some new right of way will need to be acquired. New 500-kilovolt structures will be built. During construction, vegetation on the right of way will be cleared as needed for construction work, and to provide enough clearance for the line. After the line is built, low-growing vegetation will be allowed to return, but tall trees and other species that could interfere with the line will not be permitted to grow.
